Developing Iran-Hungary Scientific-Technological Relations

YU’s president and the accompanying delegation in Hungary:

A delegation of Iran’s focal point of scientific cooperation with Hungary headed by YU’s president; Prof. (Assoc.) Mohammad Saleh Owlia, traveled to Hungary in June, 2017.

During the journey, Dr. Owlia and Iran’s ambassador in Hungary; Mr. GholamAli Rajabi Yazdi, and Prof. László Palkovics, Secretary of State for Education held a meeting investigating and insisting on developing Scientific-Technological cooperation between the two countries; YU’s International & Scientific Cooperation Office (ISCO) reports.

In this regards, a memorandum of understanding was signed in person between Yazd University and University of Szeged with the aim of establishing and extending scientific-technological cooperation.

University of Szeged (SZTE) is a large research university in Hungary. It is located in Hungary’s third-largest city, Szeged, in Csongrád County. The University is one of Hungary’s most important universities and is among the most prominent higher education institutions in Central Europe. According to QS World University Rankings, SZTE was the best Hungarian university in 2016.

Yazd University was formerly appointed as the focal point of scientific relations with Hungary by Iran’s Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology (MSRT).

The focal point’s delegation also visited Semmelweis University, Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), and Budapest’s Park of Science and Technology meeting with the corresponding officials and investigating potentials and priorities of cooperation.

Furthermore, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences and University of Szeged.
